the small businesses I've been supporting whilst in self isolation...

Online shopping has never been more relevant and supporting small, local businesses has never been more necessary as we navigate our first weeks of social distancing and staying at home.

As a micro, online gift store myself, I know how challenging it is to reach potential customers,  and the importance now for businesses who have had to quickly pivot to stay afloat, to make sales.

This past week I've bought a Puzzle, Yoga Mat and some Hand Wash & Room Spray - each of which could be regarded as an essential purchase - from small and local businesses.

I've got a few other handmade products on my online wish list, but if we're going to be in this period of hibernation for a while, I might save the dollars for now and report back in a few weeks.

Here's my stash, bought from my sofa and delivered to my doorstep. No rules broken but hopefully a few smiles on the faces of fellow small business owners.

Please consider supporting small businesses if you're able. If we can keep the cogs turning, it will be an easier place for everyone on the other side.  xx

Okay Lady - Mindful Puzzle. I'm saving this for Easter / School Holidays when there is going to be a lot of time to fill and mindfulness to channel...!

Our lovely, local Homewares, Gifts and Fashion Store The Hunted, has closed it's doors temporarily. They have launched their offerings online in record time and if you're after some beautiful outfit inspo for the party we'll be having when this is over, then check out their new website!

Just like being in store, my purchases came wrapped with their signature fluro ribbon and sticker and a handwritten Bonnie & Neil Card..swoon!

And since my lovely Yoga teacher Meg - who runs her classes from her outdoor deck, with all the mats and props - has introduced online yoga classes, I needed to get myself a mat. Stat.

Enter Mukti Mats. Made from natural tree rubber, jute and cotton fibres, Mukti is run by a husband & wife Yogi team based in NSW. I bought the Extra Large one for my tall hubby to use also, but he might have to fight me for it!

And finally, food. We can't live without it, and whilst I am enjoying the slower pace, some days I need a little help to put a delicious, colourful and interesting meal on the table.

Katering at Home are one of Sydney's premier Catering companies. Whilst all their events are on hold, their Katering at Home division has been in overdrive. Delivering meals that require a minimal  amount of work, their weekly menus include sides, slow roasts family meals, sauces, stocks, loaf cakes tarts and biscuits. Yum!

If you've bought online from a small, local business recently let me know! Firstly, what did you buy? I'm always the one checking out other shoppers' baskets or trolleys, so tell me! I'd love to support them too or at least share their offerings.

Remember, now more than ever it's time to shop small, not the mall!
