Simple and sustainable - gift giving that won't cost the earth.
There's nothing normal about this Cork Purse. Carrying one you could channel a rustic, bohemian vibe. Alternatively, gift one to a vegan friend.
The Cork Purse uses Cork Fabric, and is lined in orange cotton, and adorned with an exclusively sourced colourful tassel.
Alex Pengly and I had a lovely time choosing which tassels to use for these purses, sifting through a bag full that she brought back from a recent trip to Hong Kong. I asked if we can order more, but she confessed to finding them at the back of a streetside stall in the garment district of Downtown. So folks, this is it. Not to be repeated!
Easy to clean, stain resistant and water proof. What can't this purse do?
Measuring 20 x 13.5cm - it will fit all the essentials inside: phone, lip gloss, credit card, keys, sunglasses...
WHAT IS CORK FABRIC? Cork shavings removed from the bark of the cork oak tree are transformed into ultra thin sheets to produce cork fabric. Cork is a natural and sustainable material harvested from cork oak trees every nine years without harming or killing the trees.
The bark of the trees naturally regenerates, making cork a renewable resource. Cork is also recyclable and biodegradable. Cork is one of the Iberian peninsula's most famous products. The bark is harvested from the cork tree which grows in many parts of Spain and Portugal.
Once the tree is around 25 years old, the bark can be stripped every nine years, with trees living some 200 years. It is environmentally friendly and provides a sustainable resource.
