woollen hot water bottle covers
Newly sourced Onkaparinga Blankets have arrived - in blue, bright pink, purple & red colour ways.
Nothing warms your Winter like cuddling a hot water bottle. They've been around forever. And for good reason.
Made by upcycling Onkaparinga Blankets, these Hot Water Bottle Covers are a lovely, snuggly, caring gift.
Onkaparinga is a South Australian brand that has been around for 150 years and they are still manufacturing beautiful blankets.
I had a couple that I'd inherited from my Mum; she had taken them to boarding school with her in the 1950s. With todays central heating and feather quilts there is not much need for blankets on the beds.
What better way to keep using these beautifully crafted pieces?
My neighbour and creative whiz Alex has made these up just in time for the cooler months ahead. The wool does double duty. It's extra warm to cuddle and it helps with heat distribution.
There is simply an envelope style opening to access the water bottle itself. And the openings vary between a satin, tassel, blanket stitch and plain edging.
The covers made from my Mum's blankets are now all sold, so I'm on the hunt for more blankets in great condition. If you have one you no longer use, please let me know.
The Hot Water Bottle itself is not included, but I have some if required. Please leave a comment during checkout. They are an additional $10.
